Job Title: Forest School Leader
Location: Spa Woods Forest School, Spa Ballynahinch
Hours: Part-time (varying throughout the year)

The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic person to join our small team. You will be responsible for planning and delivering inspiring Forest School sessions that encourage learning through exploration, play, and adventure in our beautiful woodland setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engaging Forest School sessions for children, fostering their confidence, independence, and environmental awareness.
- Plan and deliver creative outdoor activities aligned with Forest School principles.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment, following health and safety guidelines and risk assessments.
- Work closely with children, parents, and staff to create meaningful learning experiences.
- Maintain and care for tools, equipment, and the woodland site.
- Promote the values and ethos of Spa Woods Forest School.
About You
Essential:
- Experience working with preschool and/or primary school children.
- Passion for nature, sustainability, and outdoor learning.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- A commitment to child-led learning and play.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable:
- Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification (or willing to work towards it).
- Experience working with children with additional needs.
- Knowledge of local flora and fauna.
- Additional outdoor skills such as bushcraft, storytelling, or environmental education.
